1. My dog did that too

2. Two of our hounds often cry softly

in their sleep. A different sound from any other that
they make. They don't appear to be in pain or otherwise
uncomfortable. Always thought it might be caused by dreaming.

3. My dog sometimes barks softly while fast asleep. And several

times, she has wagged her tail while sleeping - it's very funny to see. It must be dreams.

4. Several of my dogs talk in their sleep.

The mama dog makes the funniest growl/blowing-bubbles sound, and I hear it every now and again from some of her offspring. My oldest male, unrelated to the others, doesn't talk but thumps his tail fairly often in his sleep. I often wonder what they're dreaming about.

5. Our Tanya used to cry in her sleep. She had REM, too. I think she was dreaming.
