1. Can't that person take his/her horse and goat to the humane society?
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 09:54 PM by merh
Is there some horse or animal rescue group that he/she can contact?

That is just damned sad. :(

4. There have been people on there recently
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 09:56 PM by hippywife
looking for horses and farm animals that need new homes because their current owners can't afford to feed them. He'll get picked up by someone, I'm sure. We have 8 acres and I would take him in a heartbeat if I thought I could afford to feed him. But I know I can't and our property isn't suitable for a horse. Too many places for him to step down into a hole and we couldn't afford to fence it suitably for him, either.

2. Or put it down, my god, you could get cited and fined for having an animal in that condition here.
I found our first dumped horse yesterday. Been expecting it for a while.

5. It really is sad
when people can't afford to even feed themselves because of this economy and then the animals really suffer even worse.

it ain't very pretty at all. It's the worst condition I've ever seen a horse in that wasn't dead.

8. I wish I hadn't clicked the link.

Because I can't do anything about it. The profound desperation from the horse's person's perspective is what made it even worse. Normally in cases like that I just want to string people up from the nearest horizontal high point. You could tell that person never wanted for it to come to that and just wanted someone to save their poor animals.

Those poor, poor, suffering animals. I hope somebody in OK takes them right this red hot minute.

9. Someone else is trying to appeal for help for it.

There have been posts recently where people are offering to take in animals in these kinds of situations, so I bet someone will pick him up very soon.

10. I'm glad to hear it.
And I hope it all works out for the best for both the animals and the people.

If you hear anything, let us know.

God, that poor, poor, horse.

12. I probably won't hear anything.
That's kinda the nature of the list. Sometimes someone will post a thank you in this kind of situation but not usually.

We'll just send some of those patented lounge vibes to him and his owners, too. They shouldn't have let it get this far but they are hurting, too.

that number is definately not a coweta prefix if that is a land line that is a south tulsa number. It is looking more promising that this is a cruel joke and it is sad to use the feelings of good hearted people all over this area to get back at someone. They should have criminal charge. The only thing it does prove is that there are alot of wonderful animal loving people that are willing to help in a real needed situation. Keep the faith

----------

Actually there are several posts about the horse, some claiming it is a hoax and others saying it could be real and begging the guy to reach out to those who are trying to help or that have tried to reach him.

This one looks promising, if he has the animals they have a home on a ranch.

I called the number and got a voice mail. I told them that we are on a ranch and would take all the animals. Gave them my number and told them to call me back. I have not gotten a reply yet!

15. I did see a horse rescue post first last night
Edited on Sat Jan-10-09 07:59 AM by hippywife
before I went to bed. They wanted the guy to call them. I emailed them and they said they tried to call him but got no answer. I also saw a post this morning that his voice mail was full. Either a bunch of people called and started harassing him or this was just a hoax and someone posted the phone number of someone else they wanted to get back at for some reason. I've seen people pull some real crap on here sometimes.

I dunno.
