10. Thanks.
I'll tell him. I'm sure he'll just look at me with a smirk as if to say, "Yeah I know." He's extremely extroverted and affectionate with anyone who will pet him - almost like a dog.

16. Can I be your catsitter?
I would spend hours playing with them and when you returned from vacation, they would all be cuddled up all over me, even the one that wouldn't come out from under the bed initially. They would look up at you, but wouldn't get up to greet you, for fear of losing their prime locations next to me.

61. Thanks driver8!

Cleopatra Marie is a Catahoula Leopard mix. I have no idea what the "mix" is - she pretty much has all the characteristics of a Catahoula, according to this site, anyways. http://www.catahoulaleopard.com/homepg.htm
"The King of the stock dog breeds, most enduring... stamina is their middle name... CATAHOULA LEOPARD STOCK DOGS outwork and outfight all other breeds of stock dogs when protecting their master, livestock, and property. They are the largest and most aggressive of the cattle dogs, bred to handle wild cattle and hogs in the roughest, most remote country. Catahoulas will also hunt coon, bear, or whatever else they are introduced to. These dogs are not good city dwellers... they need several acres to roam to be happy. A farm or ranch is really their element.

Catahoulas are bred to go and find livestock in swamps, hilly canyons, thickets or forests, or mountains. They will trail, nose to ground, but prefer to throw their heads up and "wind" their prey, taking the shortest route to find, gather up or bunch, and circle and bay the quarry until their master
can reach them to take control.

Preferred size from 20-26", weight 50-90 lbs, with a few individuals larger although most males average 60-70 lbs in lean working condition, & about 24" tall. Short haired, long tail, natural flop ear (like a Dalmatian ear), they come in every color of the rainbow, but are best known for a blue/grey base with black/liver spots ("blue Leopard"), tan legs and face, white toes and chest. Many variations on this general pattern. Spots occur in all colors. Blue/glass or parti-colored "marbled" or "cracked"eyes are common in every litter. Often a dog will have eyes of two different colors."

Cleo's a good little city doggie for now, though! State Dog of Louisiana - not on AKC.

136. I LOVE the great big dogs.
My parents are Bull Mastiff fans. Not as huge but still...respectable. THeir last one, the late beloved Holly, thought she was a lap dog. Literally. You'd sit down to watch a movie and she'd come up and plop down on your lap.

Now they have a puppy. They named her Camille. I said, "Like the hurricane?" They hadn't thought of that at the time but now they're like, "yeah, like the hurricane." :D

42. He was selectively intelligent ;-)
He was one of my sister's show dogs. He was so special that when the time came for him to retire, she wouldn't let anyone else have him but me. He was Lelapin's shadow. She used to put him in her red wagon and pull him around the neighborhood.

on windy, cold days, he would stand on the hill with his face into the wind, just taking it all in. You know he would've loved to live near the cold ocean in the UK.

Thank you for letting me go on about him. He was sweet, funny and gave the kind of unconditional love you rarely find in this world.

:)

63. White Boy and Buster
Both were strays. White boy came up to my husband when he was stopped on the side of the road and Buster was hanging around my office. They are both wonderful pets. White boy (original name, huh?) is about 8-9 months, so I think he is going to be a large cat.

Hobbes, my son's 14 yr. old. All the other cats love him, he's like the grandpa of them all.

Marble, my son's ferocious female Tux. She thinks my son is her boyfriend.

Jeff the Cat. He loves everyone.

Mutt-Mutt, Jeff's littermate. He's a big softie.

Missy and Mu, our latest additions. Their momma is a feral that lives under our deck.
