1. So their clothes can scream
"Oh, look at me! I spent $200 on a scarf!"

Burberry? No. But I admit, I'm a sucker for Tommy Hilfucker stuff. And I like Ralph Lauren's understanded stuff -- no big logos. His jeans fit me perfectly but I get them at Goodwill for $4-5 on sale days.

35. IMO, Ralph Lauren is THE designer of the late 20th century. And I'n not a designer clothing type
Edited on Sun Jan-11-09 08:50 AM by cryingshame
Okay, except for Alexander McQueen. Even though I have no place to wear his stuff even if I had the money for it.

Tommy Hilfiger does have good classic designs but are sized down too much.

2. The Burberry logo'd stuff is now considered 'chav-ish'...
by those in the know. I guess that Burberry still makes a good raincoat, but terribly overpriced. If you want an authentic upscale British look, go for a Barbour jacket.

5. Love it. Beautiful stuff very well made.
Doesn't hurt that there's an outlet here, either. I got my purse at costco for $200. $900 value.

7. If they'd marked it down from $200 to $50
I might be interested, but there's no way a purse is worth $900 in the first place, IMHO - and don't get me started on the Hermes Birkin bag!

8. I think that particular bag is pretty ugly.
But I love the Burberry stuff. I am actually a total bag whore. I love most purses, bags, etc. I switch purses all the time.

Latest incarnation is the new Vera Bradley Mediterrea Blue with matching laptop case.

Drives my family nuts. But, hey, I figure I'm not spending it on crack, right? LOL.

18. even at th outlet, yes they have one the signature scarf is still $200 and an umbrella
was around $250. I saw a really cute mini barrel purse at Burberry, cute until i saw the outlet price, i think it was around $600.

9. I've been buying Vera Bradley bags for years.
The organizational aspect of the inside is huge, as well as the fact that you can turn them inside out and wash them in the washing machine.

I really like them. I don't think they're all that pricey, either. I just got one for $60. Bowling Bag Mediterrean Style. I really like it.

My daughters have inherited my obsession as well, LOL.

11. I don't understand it
I'm so not into "stuff". I couldn't tell the difference between a $1000 purse and a $16 purse...or shoes for that matter...or anything really. I just don't care.

If someone looks down on me for my $19 Target purse, then that is someone I don't want to know anyway.

30. I can tell the difference in a fine bag and a Target bag, but I carry
both. I love my Target purses. But I also love my litte Prada purse and my Kate Spades. They do hold up longer. And I would only spend a lot on a purse that I could use 10 years from now. It has to be classic.

24. Love the scarf, hate the purse.
Although over the holidays I saw a beautiful wool coat with the signature plaid as the liner. I drooled. I used to be a label whore, not so much these days.

28. It is classic. I think that is why.
I like it, but only on something small like that scarf.

My aunt bought my baby some Burberry clothes (they do make them for babies), and it isn't that classic plaid. They are precious little outfits, but I wouldn't have spent the money on them. Bella will wear them proudly though.

32. They apparently bought the rights to the tartan from the original clan..though
I don't know how that would work as clan members are spread all over the world. But that is what they did they liked the tartan so much.
