4. They seem okay, though the son who made all the arrangements

admitted he hasn't really had a chance to let it all hit yet. So, I'll stay in close contact with him. It was kind of a loss for me, too. The woman who died had been a missionary to several French and Creole speaking areas, her longest service in Haiti. I majored in French as an undergrad, but rarely get to use it. She and I would speak French when I visited her in the nursing home, and those were special times for me.

But she spoke often of being ready to go, and I know she was uncomfortable at the end. So, there's reason to give thanks, too.
