Look at the commercial he does with the bottle of soda and the carpet sample. On the zoomed in shot (when he lifts the rug) you can clearly see the soda soaking through to the table below. He remarks that that's what's going to stink (or something like that). Then the shot zooms out and the table is clearly bone dry surrounding the sample as he rolls the cloth over the carpet.
