Does anyone else here think that Urban Peasant is a spoof of a cooking show?

Okay, so you were all right about Bob Ross. I watch him all the time now and, you were RIGHT, OKAY? lol

But, this Urban Peasant guy, whoa. His kitchen looks like a bomb shelter that didn't make it or, as I call it, "Mom's kitchen". He always has all this unrelated food laying around and he uses the same utensil over and over without washing it that I can see. He burns himself on hot pots and while he reminds me of a lot of my geeky friends or even, of me sometimes, he makes me hope somewhere just off camera one of HIS FRIENDS is standing there with a First Aid kit and a fire extinguisher.

I love the idea that you can be anyone and use whatever you have in your cupboard to make a good meal. But, if you do it the way he does it, you probably should also have plenty of insurance and 911 on the speed dial. One of these days, he's going to fry his oven mitt.

Edit to add: James Barber is no longer with us. I hope he died in his bedroom.

1. It was my favorite cooking show.
It was the only one where they made things I could actually afford. :)

I love the part about, what you can afford. It was that whole open flame thing that made me nervous.

(I have a really bad record on shows like this. lol)

/oops

3. If his sleeve caught on fire he would have just included it in the meal.
