Poll question: You've just checked into a seaside hotel. What's the first thing you do?
Do describe your "other," but keep it mod-friendly. :)

Maybe you do all of these things; okay: in what order?

(Can you tell I'm getting antsy to be landing in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday at around 7:30?)

Dagobah is pretty unknown, if you're into beaches with big monsters and 3' tall green cabana boys who have difficulty parsing English...

God knows what she'll order for me, but order for me she will, since I will be on the balcony and deaf to all but the surf.

Great! You'll have a blast.

Be sure to have a coctail at The Elbo Room. It all seems a little younger crowd to me now, but I remember it being in a perfect place.

Hollywood Beach was my hangout! It's miles from Lauderdale hehe.

Nice boardwalk to stroll and get refills as you took it all in.

The law was pretty good at keeping out "riff-raff" which evidently I was some days

You'll have a blast!

26. Even before I looked at the choices I saw this
big french doors leading out to a veranda, the sea breeze blowing, and me sitting out there on a chilly winter day (yes, I know I'm weird, I like the Jersey shore in the wintertime).

I had to vote "Go out on the balcony".

28. Tommy O - I'll post our pictures from New Year's in Avalon
But I'm not at my home computer, where they are.

I hooked up with a vampire-like creature who burns at 3 pm in the summer THROUGH a t-shirt, so I, too have become a winter-beach person (probably a good idea after many years of baking my pre-cancerous Irish skin in the New Jersey sun)

38. We don't have tsunamis. . .
We have hurricanes--and yes, there are signs pointing out the hurricane evacuations routes. Sadly, they all lead into swampland. Our official exit is a road through the hammocks that is under water in your everyday summer afternoon thunderstorm, so I guess we need to add a life raft to that emergency kit in the trunk. :eyes:

Not that we're likely to ruin the great escape with a hurricane at this time of year. But. . . the spring break crowd is another matter. Isn't it getting to be about that time?
