Biggest Full Moon of '09 (pic heavy)
Since we had the biggest full moon we'll get all year over the weekend, I figured I'd take the opportunity to snap some pics of it.The skyline shots were last night, so it wasn't technically a full moon when those were taken but it still looked perfectly full and was really bright.Enjoy. :)

10. Thanks Peggy
I think just being in the lounge probably qualifies one as a lunatic, no? :silly:

That's the first time I've tried those kind of night time skyline shots with a digital. I really miss 35mm film for doing those. :(

14. I saw the same thing
I head west into work too, it was still just huge and bright when I headed out at 6am.

11. I've tried to catch the settings on those first two pics a gazillion times
It usually ends up being a very bright white ball of angelic light... or blurry :D

Good job!

12. thanks

I think I got lucky, I twisted it to the twilight setting and used the timer to snap it so it didn't shake on the tripod from pushing the button and voila, that's what I came up with. Most moon shots I have ever tried to get came out just as you described.

15. Beautiful! Thanks!
It was snowing like a sumbitch on full moon night, so we saw nuttin'. We always seem to have bad weather every time there's something interesting, astronomically speaking--huge full moons, meteor showers, etc. Just the odds 'round here, I guess. :(

I know how you feel, the last couple of meteor showers I wanted to catch we had solid cloud cover. :(
