my lawyer seems to want to go to court and put the screws in the other lawyer and my stbx

I don't want that, I hired a pit bull, but I'm not keeping her on a leash very well right now.

You're paying this pit bull. Your lawyer should have done all the hard work already. If you don't want to prolong it any more and she can't convince of some earth-shattering disadvantage to settling without court, yank her leash hard.
