Obama service project (with pics!)
On Saturday morning, we kicked off a series of community service projects across new Hampshire with an event at New Horizons for New Hampshire, a food pantry, soup kitchen, and shelter in inner-city Manchester. Congressman Paul Hodes joined us and helped the kitchen crew prepare chow. Afterwards, some folks headed up to Concord to assist in a weatherization project up there.

I'm the chubby guy in the cream colored shirt. On the right is Congressman Paul Hodes. Obama state campaign co-chair Jim Demers is directing traffic!

Our crew! Kris Schultz, one of the original "Draft Obama" activists and the organizer of the service projects here in NH, is on the far left; Mrs. BlueDog is on the right.

1. Very nice
Thank you for getting involved with this, and posting the pictures. I need to get back to community service.
I kind of dropped it when I started protesting...which I guess is a different kind of service and I'm not good at multitasking.
I know a few folks from NH...Nashua Peace..
Do you happen to know David Tiffany? Just thought I'd ask...

Very nice picture...nice folks...we all need to do our part.
Enjoy!

peace~

2. I don't know David
Manchester and Nashua are only about 15 miles apart, but there is surprisingly little interaction between the two on a political level. Both cities have weird, parochial political cultures, and they are in different congressional districts.

The big peace activist in the Manchester area is a fellow named Will Thomas. he's a retired teacher who heads the local Veterans For Peace chapter.

4. Interesting...
I live in rural central MA in the middle of all the republican * lovers. It's really freaky. I understand the 'weird, parochial political cultures' just in my district alone. There was an active group from MA that worked tirelessly in NH...Swing the Vote.

I asked about David as he's the one who asked McCain the question that was heard around the world..the '100 year war' answer. I've stood with him quite a few times, a real gentleman.

Keep up the great work! We've only just begun...

peace~
