1. My wife and I saw the film's theatrical re-release

No one in the theater knew that the spider-walk was coming, and a communal "Aaagh!" rose from the audience.


Horrible! It's not right that they'd show that to people!!!1!




Ellen Burstyn is fantastic in this film, as in so many others.

One complaint about the movie, though--the bit with the cop and the non-dead priest at the end is inexcusable hokey. I can't imagine what they were trying to achieve even when the film first came out.

2. They should have left it in.

I suppose they thought it was too creepy, but really it wasn't that much worse than the crucifix stabbing demonstration.

mostly younger people who are accustomed to much worse fare.

a big reason why I seldom go to see movies in theaters.
