The new Friday the 13th remake looks dumb.
And I was kind of digging it from the earlier trailers.

The problem I have with it is Crystal Lake appears to be abandoned, which means no children and cute camp counselors in very short shorts. I've never taken the series seriously, knowing it's a very tongue in cheek horror movie, but this version actually tries to be serious and I know because of this it will fail.

2. Damn. No wrapping victims around a tree? Folding them in half in their sleeping bags?
Fuck that noise.

5. Yes.
As I said, the Friday series rarely took itself seriously. It was a gore & boob fest and that is exactly what fans wanted.

This version, though, looks serious in tone and that doesn't fly with me. I want cheesy fun with awesome kills.

Like the poster above you said, a kill involving Jason wrapping a girl wrapped in a sleeping bag around a tree. Fucking sweet.

6. Right. It lacks the intellectual nuance of the first 426.

7. Exactly!
How can Friday the 13th series have any credibility after this?

It's just not possible.

was cheering the killer. Critics, who were right, said the victims deserved to be killed because they were so damned dumb, and I agree. Why would a remake be better?
