How do I connect an ipod to my PC?

Just received my ipod from ebay - unfortunately it didn't include a software CD. What do I need software wise to connect? I've searched the apple website but that's not much help.

4. Isn't IPOD only compatible with MAC

computers. I didn't know if it was compatible to a PC. But anyway you will still need to get the software from somewhere, perhaps off ebay.

7. Nope.

Apple's had the iPod compatible with Macs *and* Windows for quite some time. They also have a Windows version of the iTunes software as well.

The newer iPods have both FireWire and USB 2.0 connections. If the person has a newer iPod, then they need either FW or USB2. If they have an older iPod, then they need FireWire, (and the iPod may need to be reformatted for Windows, but that's not a problem.)

This one connects via Firewire, but I imagine there's some software required...

You'll need software such as MusicMatch ITunes for Windows and the PC driver for the IPod

using a Windows machine. I had the CD with the drivers as well. I made the switch to Mac this past summer and all I had to do was plug my iPod into the Mac and the Mac took over from there. It reformatted the iPod as a Macpod and I have had no trouble since.

I suspect you should only have to plug it into either a USB or Firewire port and let the computer do everything else. It should detect some new software and go to the Apple page.
