I'm having a rough day
Last night I probably got 4 hours of sleep. My breathing wasn't so great this morning, so I drove my mom to work.

I then went and did the census employment test. I got home at around 10:30, and at 11 I cooked a pot of macaroni.

At 3 I left to go to the store, then I went and picked up my mom from her office. We sat out in the back yard and chilled for a while, then I suddenly realized I had to take Maddy to dog class. I had been hoping to eat something before I left, but there was no time.

At 6:40 I finally got her out the door, and she immediately slipped her collar and ran down the street.

On the way to dog class the gas light for the car went on. Maddy also barfed ALL OVER the back of the car.

I got to dog class 5 minutes late. It was the first week, so she was a little nervous at first, then I got her in the space where she was just lying on her mat and looking at me quietly. I had to give her LOTS of treats for this, of course. Her excellent behavior was hard to fully enjoy due to the fact that she and her leash were still covered in vomit, and the smell was pungent.

After the class the trainers all had to pet her, and I had some questions for them, so I didn't get out of there until 8:30.

I had been hoping to stop for gas on the way home, but the barf smell was pretty strong. In addition, all those yummy treats I fed her in class came back up, and DUDE... it really went all over the place.

I walked in the door and I asked my mom for some paper towels. I went outside to go clean it up, and most of it wiped off pretty easily but some of it went down in the track that the front seat fits into.

I came back in after wiping it up and announced my intention to go get some fast food because I was STARVING (my last meal having been 10 hours earlier).

My mom FLIPPED HER LID and started yelling at me that she couldn't deal with me being cranky all the time. She also said that if I was going to get food then she guessed that none of the dogs would have their meds tonight because she was going to bed. I told her how Maddy barfed all over the car and then she REALLY started screaming at me that I basically ruined her car, and that if Maddy was going to barf in the car then she couldn't go back to dog class. When I said that that wasn't fair she screamed that she didn't want a third dog anyway.

She acts like I'm cranky at her, which is bullshit. I'm cranky because I had four hours of sleep, I didn't feel well to start with today, I hadn't eaten in 10 hours, I had to smell vomit for two hours straight, and finally I had to clean up HUGE amounts of vomit out of the back of the car.

I think with all that I have a right to be grumpy for 10 minutes. I wasn't cranky with her, I was cranky with the situation, but she made it all about how I was trying to hassle her. :wtf:

I thought I was trying to take responsibility for cleaning up the barf and for getting my own food. Sometimes I feel like I can't win.

2. ~~~~ HUGS ~~~~
That sounds like a f*cked up day. Hope it gets better and Maddy doesn't barf everytime she is in a car. And yes, you had all the right to be cranky at the situation.

3. Make sure to get gas.
If there is one way to make things suck worse, it's running out of gas.

9. Sorry for your sucky day.

I think your Mom has some serious issues (from this and other things you've posted). It sounds like she has a sucky life, and wants to make sure that others are affected by her suckage too. Misery loving company and all that. I hope you can get out of that unhealthy situation soon.

19. Usually she's a normal person and OK to deal with
but about once every 3 weeks something SETS HER OFF, and it's always something baffling.

15. You're right, that day SUCKED
I'm sorry to hear about that, especially the ending.

Can I offer some advice? I have a rule of thumb:

When there is vomit involved, the person/critter doing it stays home and cancels the days plans. (in this case, dog should have stayed home)

I realize dogs have a low barfing threshold.

18. That makes two of us.
This is probably one of the darker days of my life ... and there have been a few of those over the years ...

Maybe it'll get better.
