My sunroom has frost inside all the windows! :scared:

1. I had ice like that inside the windows in my room
growing up every winter. It was normal in every old house. :(

I don't miss it. Not at all. I like my nice, well heated apartment.

Please stay warm. :hug:

3. some of my outer old style windows have a bit of frost on em..

I baked in our kitchen last night, since the outer part of it is poorly insulated. Well, stay as warm as you can!

It's -6 here.

4. 17 below here
There was frost in my sunroom a couple years ago... all my orchids died and I gave up growing orchids in Wisconsin. Too cold and dry to get them through the winter.

7. It is about 50 in that room right now.
I have closed it off for the first time ever. I usually leave it open since it has been appropriated by Little MB, but since she is not home I figured let it just keep the cold...

Yeah, growing orchids in WI in winter could be tough ;)

6. It will only be a few minutes until some simpleton fuck from Cali
posts how warm it is there. And 6 months from now they'll post "OMG OMG OMG THE FIRES ARE NEXT TO MY HOUSE!""

and I'll point at the screen and laugh at them

8. ...
:spray::spray:

I am getting ready to grab my Northern Exposure DVDs and head back up to my bed. Watching poor Joel complain about Alaska cold should make me feel better, although you know Caribou Barbie would say I am a wuss.

11. I lived in Spokane, WA before
so I know what cold can be. That's why I moved to Southern Cal but now I'm in Nor Cal which has it's share of the 4 seasons since we get fall leaves and blossoms. When those plum and apple trees blossom it's quite a grand sight to behold.

By the way, did you find out who robbed your house?

12. Yes, they caught my burglars!
But I only managed to recover one necklace - all of my rings are gone :(

But they are going to jail for A LONG time - they are being charged with 21 burglaries!

14. Another double entendre! "Hoar frost". That's the official name for frost
inside a house. Hoar frost.

Enjoy.

15. I thought that was just a type of frost.
But check out these other hoars:

air hoar is a deposit of hoar frost on objects above the surface, such as tree branches, plant stems, wires;
surface hoar is formed by fernlike ice crystals directly deposited on snow, ice or already frozen surfaces;

but my favorite two are...

wait for it....

crevasse hoar consists in crystals that form in glacial crevasses where water vapour can accumulate under calm weather conditions;

and
depth hoar refers to cup shaped, faceted crystals formed within dry snow, beneath the surface.
