Why are little girls in love with ponies?

Myself, not being a little girl, I don't understand why

2. I loved horses after the age of 25. It was a time of growth in my life

after being a doormat teenager. I guess I was late in my love of horses.

3. I don't think they love ponies so much

as they would like to BE ponies.

4. I'm female but I never went through the horse or princess

phase. I don't understand this obession with horses either. Once I learned to ride a bike I kind of became obsessed with riding.

5. I never wanted a pony.

I wanted ALL animals.


When I was 5, a friend of the family had a Great Dane. She was scared I would be scared of the dog because it was twice my size. Instead I asked if I could ride that doggie. A Great Dane would have been as nice as a pony to me. I did have lots of dogs though. And fish, and a cat, and a rabbit, and a turtle, and a hamster, and a baby duck (we rescued it). I had any animal my parents would allow me to keep.
