Dec 1, 2001: The World Lost and My Heart was Broken Forever
PBS here in Tulsa, Okla. is airing the Concert for George tonight, and my eyes are all misty.

George Harrison gave this world so much love. He was lucky to have friends like John, Paul, Ringo, Eric Clapton, Ravi Shankar, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Michael Palin, and the many many others. But I know in my heart, we were ALL MUCH more fortunate to have George in our lives.

For those of you who haven't seen the concert, ask your local PBS if they will air it some night. It's SUCH a moving experience. Watching Clapton play with the Indian band is so incredible. Same with Jeff Lynne. The music is so inspiring and so full of love and peace. Truly amazing. Truly fucking AMAZING.

His son, Dhani looks so much like him, it's shocking.

1. Did he really die back in 2001?
Wow, doesn't seem that long. How the time flies.

Getting older has the nasty tendancy to cram time into a smaller and smaller unit every year...If someone had asked me, I would have said Harrison died about a year ago. Ouch!

If I can find the Celebrity Dead or Alive site I turned up once long ago, I'll add it on an edit.

Edit: These guys think it was 11/29, but the obit they link to says 11/30:

Aforementioned obit: http://www.guardian.co.uk/obituaries/story/0,3604,609545,00.html

I believe, however, that this is the one I found before, not that it makes any difference: http://www.wa-wd.com/
It's always good to know who's alive and who's dead.:)

11. I agree it is amazing how time seems to race along
It does not appear that over two years has passed since he died. Even my mother had tears when she heard.

3. I still love the Concert for Bangladesh
They were all totally ripped, and Ringo is so bad he's almost good, but damn that show was full of heart.

4. Clapton playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps
And it's done with so much emotion. Strange how artists express themselves in ways some of us just can't understand. When Paul sang "Something" there was obvious pain in his voice. I also think Michael Palin had a hard time doing his sketch.

I found where you can order the DVD of this concert from Amazon.com, and I think it's a must have!
