RIP, Mr. Mortimer. Rumpole soothed my soul and made me laugh myself silly. You (and the amazing Leo McKern, who could not have been a better Rumpole) will be and are missed. Rest in Peace.

3. I used to practice law (and hated it - big box firm) - and

I can't tell you what a lifesaver it was at times for me to read Rumpole on my commute into work....

And I just love Leo McKern (who died some years back). He was the *perfect* Rumpole.
