I'm not quite sure what to do.
So I have all my plans for the inauguration made..I have a place to stay Monday night with a relative in DC and have plans to meet up with others on Monday and yet...I'm not sure I wouldn't be better off at home..I've been having health issues such as dizzy spells...I also seem to be in the middle of a depressive episode which makes me less than enthusiastic about being around large groups people that I don't know..I'll probably still go but there is a part of me which would rather stay home and watch from the comfort and warmth of my house..:(

1. Honey, stay home. DC will be a zoo and if you don't want to be
in huge crowds, don't go. You'll see a lot more at home on TV. :-)

2. Do not put your health in jeopardy!
But this is once in a lifetime, if you have friends with you and you scope out an area near the fringes but within view of a jumbotron, I say go for it.

Plus, if you get there and just need to leave early, at least you'll have tried.

If you don't try at all, well, if it were me I'd probably regret not having tried.

Best wishes for whatever you decide! :hi:

3. I agree with Raven. The crowds are the reason I'm not going.
:shudder:

4. If you want to stay home, than by all means stay home
From what you wrote, that seems to be what you want. It sounds like you feel obligated to go and are looking for reasons not to. To what makes you happy, there is no obligations.

5. Dizzy spells would make me nervous
about going out for a length of time - especially when it's going to be a bit chilly outside and there could be hundreds of thousands of people packed into the area.

6. Drown that timid part of you! Let the crowds carry away your feelings of sadness and isolation.
Plus, sleeping at the Lincoln Memorial is safe. People do it all the time.

Unless it's really a serious depression, not just the blues. If so, don't risk triggering an episode in a crowd where it would be literally impossible to get away or get someplace safe. My first advice is only in case you are just feeling a little nervous and need encouragement.

That, and your purse.

I kid. tns, if you don't want to go, don't force yourself, unless you genuinely want to. As stated by others, stick with some good friends if you do.

7. If you will be safely with people who can help you and look out for you.
Trust them, let them know what's going on. And then let yourself enjoy this historic occasion. You'll kick yourself your entire life if you miss this.

Going might pull you out of the depression. Being around people you like might cheer you up.

Please go and be happy. Have a ball! Think of us of who can't be at the party. Take lots of pictures.

11. Tough call.
I hate being around a lot of people (2 or more qualifies), so I can relate to wanting to stay home. On the other hand though, this is a pretty rare event that you'd remember forever.

Make it a game time decision. :)

12. What is your main reason to not go?
If it is health reasons, the dizzy spells, then take care of yourself and skip it unless you feel up to it.

If its depression, then go, and be a part of this important event, even if you don't know the other million+ people there. At least 3-4 of them will be cool, ya know?

thats my two cents. take it for what its worth.
