I'm going to see Rocky Horror tonight.
I don't know if I can get there in the electric wheelchair so I guess I'm getting pushed there in the manual wheelchair.

Woo Hoo! Doctor Scott!

But I haven't been in a floor show in years. I need to brush up on my lines. :P

Um... anyone got any black lingerie in my size I can borrow.

5. I noticed yesterday that I hadn't seen you in a few days.

I was starting to get concerned. I hope you're doing well. :loveya:

My girl cat, Millie Dear is crowding the monitor right now looking for scritches and scratchs and attention. I'm looking around her and typing with one hand while I pet her with the other. So she sends her love too. :)

4. You'll need to be wearing your black lingerie under a large piece of plastic
Especially if sitting up front

7. I haven't really been in any shape to wear lingerie in many years.
:P

I'm going to be with a large group. And for some reason most of them are going to be wearing Harry Potter robes to Rocky Horror. Apparently it's the big thing now to mix up costumes to different events.

I haven't figured out yet what I'll really wear, but I guarantee there won't be that much skin showing. :)

The plastic sheet is a good idea though.

9. I definitely will.
I can't believe I've let it go so many years since I've gone. :wow:

I'm not THAT old yet. And even if I was, so what? Fandom is an all-ages sort of thing. :)

10. I haven't been to the Halloween showing in 4 years or so.
Used to be a never-miss event for me.

11. You're braver than me.
That's one night I'll never go. I can't handle the crowds on Halloween at pretty much any major thing in Manhattan. I've been hurt too many times. So now I stay home.

I'll go on quieter nights. :)

But tonight the crowd is with me. About 30 of the people there will be friends of mine, so I'll be pretty well insulated from getting pushed, shoved or hassled.

31. As silly and cheesy as TRHPS can be, I always love the Science Fiction Double Feature
reprise from the film soundtrack. I love the music-box intro. It's actually, almost, kind of moving...

15. Have fun!

I got nostalgic a few months ago and went for the first time in like twenty years. Wow. I mean, WOW, things sure were different. It was kind of a disappointment, actually. Back in the day everybody always used one script and shouted and did stuff in unison so at least you cold hear the screen lines and get the jokes. This time there were like a dozen different lines being shouted all at the same time, you couldn't even hear or figure out (if you didn't already know) what was happening on the screen.

And the floor show people were pretentious and decidedly UNfunny. The pre-show "show" lasted an hour, and they made the new people crawl on the floor, fake orgasms on stage, go through a "spanking machine" of the floor show people, and they wrote a giant "V" on their foreheads in red permanent marker. :wtf:

I don't know, is this all standard stuff nowadays? We brought a few new people and they left thinking the whole thing was pretty stupid. I really didn't blame them. We spent the whole car ride back explaining how cool it used to be.

Eh. Get off my lawn.

Anyway, I'm so glad to see you getting out, and I hope your experience is way more fun than mine was.

:loveya:

21. That doesn't sound very fun.
I hope it's not like that tonight. :(

I'm used to a couple of competing scripts, but hopefully not too many, and hopefully they won't be too uptight or humiliate anyone. It's supposed to be FUN!

I'll certainly post about it tomorrow. Hopefully there will be a lot of fun stories to tell. Other people are bringing cameras so there might even be some good pictures to post. :)

24. Well, that's almost as absurd as Rocky Horror.
And could probably be parodied just as successfully. :P

I'm sorry you were so bored that you actually sat through it. :(

20. Have fun. That whole experience is a riot, and was a seminal event in
my youth. I still have some buttons, a mutiliated poster and a "press kit" from the release of that film.

What a fantastic phenomenon that whole thing was.

25. Hopefully it still is a fantastic phenomenon.
It will be interesting to see how it has changed over time. This will be sort of a cultural field study tonight. :P

27. my favorite Rocky Horror story
saw it in Austin Texas - when he says, "It's no crime to give yourself over to absolute pleasure," someone in the audience yelled, "IT IS IN TEXAS!!!" :D

30. Chuck some toast for me!
I can't figure if toast or TP is my favorite thing to throw. Toast can go like a frisbee, but if you get a lot of air under the TP, it comes unrolled pretty well.
