9. I think cause it's busy *and* laid back so maybe appeals to both sides of the brain...
er'whatever. But as Judy pointed out and rightly so; it's a stage set http://www.snopes.com/photos/architecture/redneck.asp now I'm theater arts but imo that thing would be less than satisfying to stage and sound check but I'm with you...

I can see myself in a tattered bathrobe and last night's makeup with a cup of coffee pining off into a slow, black water bayou beyond quite easily

8. Seriously, if you are familiar with Syd Mead's work ("Bladerunner"), this
looks a lot like his 1983 painting "City on Megabeam," as well as some concept paintings he made for clients in Kobe, Japan.

Interesting stuff.

10. no thank you
I lived in a travel trailer, they are not comfortable, they are drafty and expensive to heat/cool because they have very little insulation and when it rains, it's like being inside a kettle drum.

I learned first hand why the head board was invented.

14. there isn't enough duct tape available in this world that could
secure those suckers so they feel safe - it's like living on a boat on land, they rock and roll - and every noise on the outside can be heard inside.

I've lived in apartments and stayed in hotels that had thicker walls and provided more privacy, if you get my drift.

:silly:

15. Well...if you insist upon be 'serious', not everyone in this world has the option...
of living in a house. Sometimes we work for studios assembling those standees you see in theaters for blockbuster movies, etc. Some are very complex and sturdy for being made of cardboard you'd be surprised. And some of them are warmer, drier, more sturdy, and just plain better that the dilapidated habitats many homeless in my area are seen living within in fact too many have none. In such a world as that/this, how can being seen sleeping on a steam grate in the city, or down by the river on damp foliage with the crawdads; be seen as the better option to living in an Airstream? When the future for some is still filled with FEMA trailers :puke:

16. oh believe me, I do get it
the airstream and the fema trailer are by far a better option

There is no doubt about that, just like that fema trailer was better than the tent that was my next best option (or the back of my car).

I've worked with agencies that tried to get meals to those in hollowed out versions of that trailer, no electricity, no running water, just basically a roof over their head. At first, it's like "this should be reported, what horrific conditions" then you realize that reporting means the person will lose the shell of a trailer and maybe even the land it sits on.
