Well, THAT was a let-down

Got a used electric cooktop from Craigslist before Christmas and finally had it and a new vent hood installed today. Spent three hours with the electrician taking out our 35-year-old model, doing some re-wiring, and installing the "new" stuff. Guess what? No heat from the burners :eyes:

Burner indicator lights come on and everything, vent hood works fine, so we know power is getting there. The electrician felt so bad he said when we got another one he'd install it for free. So we got that going for us.

Now I must tend to my non-boiling water.

I hope you get a new working stove.

I prefer gas over electric. But given that I can't cook anymore I guess it wouldn't matter what I think anymore. :)

I just got a call from another craigslister and am going to pick up another cooktop - hope this one works! The kicker is that the other one was a Jenn Air. :(

I prefer gas too, but we've been in an electric house so long I've forgotten what it's like.
