God I am just in AWE every time I hear this album. Everything is so perfect in its simplicity. I grew up on this album and love every note, and never tire of it.

All I wonder is why did God take Lennon from us? WHY??

2. The Smiths - Meat Is Murder
Is my first.

Abbey Road in top 10 , ok I can see it being #1. Like arguing about the number of angels that can fit on pinhead, 10,543 of course.

3. I'll probably get stoned for saying this..
Don't get me wrong, I think Abbey Road is a MASTERPIECE. Especially the ending medley. Man, it gives me chills. But, I think that the song Come Together is highly overrated and really takes away from the album.

Flame away.

4. Sure its not because FM radio overplays that tune?
I used to like the Eagles until I listened to FM alot..now I can't stand them.

Could it be because the classic rock stations only play that song and not "I WANT YOU"?

5. You're probably right..
It also could be because my friends used to play it constantly back in high school and torture me with it because I said it "wasn't my favorite." I guess there's worst things to be tortured with.

6. Its you
Lots of music got made since then - really, really good music.

The 60s are so over.

Try and forget "Beatlemania", try listening to Sheryl Crow, Liz Phair, Sarah McLachlan, Outkast, and some other modern bands. I know you can....

7. Arrrgh!
The '60's will never be over...not while I have breath in my body. Everything after is just a minor footnote.

8. Don't get me wrong
I think there has been great music since then. Nirvana was an amazing band, Pearl Jam still gives me shivers and Phish are mad insane artists. And Radiohead - don't get me started on Radiohead. I honestly think OK Computer is our generation's Sgt. Pepper or Dark Side of the Moon - it's that good!

Outkast is OK. Trust me, in 5 years no one will remember them.

9. ...you only give me your funny paper...
Abbey Road is my Desert Island cd - the one I would take if I could only take one.

Of course, it wouldn't be necessary, since every note and word is burned deep into my DNA.

I just bought my third CD copy of it last week - I've worn two out.

:toast: to another true believer!
