5. Sorry. I couldn't resist...
I wish I could help more as I'm a PC person with no experience with Macs. There is a Mac help & support forum here where I'll bet someone can tell you the way to fix it.

If there is some sort of rollback feature in your OS, you could use that to return to the place you were before your grandson did his magic.

3. Ugh
Could you hit Apple-Z until you undo it? Otherwise, if you have Time Machine, I'd just go back an hour (or before whenever it happened).

4. I never have this problem with a PC.
Ha! I just had to say it since the Mac people always chime in with it.

8. Pshaw
On my crappy work computer, I'm forever accidentally turning crap on and off just by stupid things like holding the shift key for five seconds. DUMBEST.OS.EVER. (LOL, just to keep the exchange running true to form.)

The Voice Over thing is pretty cool, actually. I knew we could turn speech on anytime, but this also has a braille option. I subscribe to Apple's RSS feed so I get heads up about little tidbits like this, but they've not covered this topic yet.

7. Here's a page to explain it. I think you hit the same hot keys to turn off the voiceover.

Pretty cool, it appears all macs have that. I'll have to ask my son if his does.
