3. No, but Children of Men was excellent.
Also check out Croupier, which was his first starring role.

4. Croupier was excellent.
Also in Closer, the char room scenes between him and Jude Law were hilarious.

5. Never saw Closer.
Although the other day, I read "The Stranger" and pictured Clive Owen as the main character. For some reason, he seemed to fit.

6. Bond was cynical

Clive Owen would have made an excellent Bond, in my opinion. Daniel Craig, however, definitely stepped up to the rougher Bond from the first books.

And Shoot 'Em Up was a fun, but largely terrible movie, but he had fun doing it.

10. I felt that he was poorly cast in Sin City
But that's the only time I've thought him less than excellent in a role.

12. I thought he made that movie..
I really like graphic novels so I was hoping the movie would be good. Owen's character was the best...

13. How the hell can you possibly be so goddamn wrong?
Just kidding--it's no doubt a matter of taste.

I thought that Benicio del Toro gave a better performance in that scene, in part because he had one of the worst lines in the graphic novel but delivered it very effectively (I'll leave it to you to figure out which one!)

Also, Mickey Rourke as Marv was fantastic. Granted, the makeup prosthesis helped in the visualizing, but his performance was great.

On the whole, I liked the film but found it very uneven. Brittany Murphy's performance might be the worst in the history of non-porn film.

15. Well Brittany Murphy...
I think Own's character was more developed than the others, more real in a way and not just a cliche.

16. I don't mean the character, but the performance
If you held a contest in which each participant tried to deliver her lines as unconvincingly as possible, the top five competitors would have been eclipsed by Murphy.

When she delivers the line "you god. damned. bastard," it makes me want to leap behind the couch and be ill.
