I am in the kitchen. My daughter went up to go to bed. My husband went up to set her alarm clock and have her set out her clothes for the morning.

Suddenly, Jane was calling down the stairs to me. It's a little loud down here because the football game is on in the living room. I heard her voice calling,

"Mom! Is tomorrow Ham and Rice Day?"

"What?"

"Is tomorrow Ham and Rice Day?"

(I'm thinking WTF?)

"I don't even know what Ham and Rice Day means. What are you talking about?"

I could hear Jane coming down the steps closer to the kitchen shouting,

"HUMAN RIGHTS DAY!"

"Oh! Yes. Tomorrow is Human Rights Day."

She had told her father there is no school tomorrow, and he wanted her to make sure that was right.
