I am nervous again.
As you know, I have been talking to this girl that I am supposed to meet with on Saturday night. We have talked a couple of times on the phone. The first time was for an hour. The second was for a half-hour. She had things she needed to do and then go to bed. I went to my Dean meetup tonight. When I got home, I saw her number on the caller ID. I wonder why she was calling me. I fear that she may be breaking our "date". This if from a guy who has shitty luck with women. I had a feeling that that would happen.

don't jump to the worst conclusion. She might've called for a myriad of reasons.

6. Relax, here's a true story from my past
.
.
.

I was always the shy guy, never able to use "pick-up" lines, and awkward meeting girls. Even more awkward was me expressing to a girl that I was attracted to her. . let alone ask her out .

Well, this one girl stuck in my mind, I had an overwhelming desire to ask her out, but never the "nerve"

finally I tracked her down one day, and walked in to her yard to where she appeared to be having a boyfriend over, quickly apologized and was about to leave . .

Then said she'd walk me out and told me to call her, giving me her phone number . .

I called her a day or so later and we arranged to go out to dinner and a movie

The nite of the "date" I called to confirm the time and she informed me that she didn't feel like going out . .

My heart sunk and was about to just say good-bye, when out of the blue I said well, what would you rather do . .

She replied that how about just coming over to visit me for a bit

Not wanting to appear anxious or improper I arranged for a friend of mine to be there and we played guitars, did beers and so on, when my friend told me he had to go

Being terrified sort of that the girl would want to leave also I practically begged my friend to stay . .

He told be to wake up, that the girl obviously wanted to be alone with me (yah, I was a wee bit slow on that part too)

So he left, she stayed, and to make a long story short, ,

The next morning I wasn't a virgin anymore ! :bounce:

Yah ya - that's the truth!

7. Maybe for you. But I sometimes think that women hate me.
Even when I am a nice guy.

8. Not to sound harsh
but women can smell that a mile away. If you are too needy or too insecure then she may back away. It is okay to feel that way, just try to keep it to yourself as much as possible. Don't ask a woman if they like you or how much thy like you, just tell them how you feel about them (I just broke that rule about an hour ago...ooops)

Very few people are going to like you more than you like you.

Expecting the worst is a defense mechanism. Expecting the best and having the worst happen doesn't feel any worse than just having the worst happen.

This whole thing just has to do with experience. you will not be comfortable with anyone you like at first but will get better at it. The only way to get better at it is to go through it a bunch of times.

Getting rejected does not feel worse than feeling alone. Not asking and feeling like a coward feels worse than being rejected.

Go ahead and be nervous, just don't over think. It is a very Zen process, not trying gets you farther than trying too hard.
