Bought a new vacuum cleaner yesterday....
My roommate has entirely too many cats, and his vacuum cleaner was the definition of useless. So I broke down and bought myself a Dyson (and will take it with me when I move, of course). I didn't get the Animal (I could manage $400 for the standard one, but $600 for the Animal would have been a stretch).

I had to empty the container at LEAST once per room from all of the cat hair. :scared:

1. So you're looking for something to do with the cat hair?
Makes good insulation. Or mulch.

3. I'm maybe about halfway through the house....
and I probably dumped enough cat hair to cover a football field.

But there was a lot of other debris, too... My Krewe's Mardi Gras ball was this past weekend, and we had strings of fabric, sequins, rhinestones, glitter, etc... all over the place from the frenzy of costume construction over the past few weeks.

2. We got the Animal with the Stimulus last year.
Awesome vacuum cleaner. I can say without hesitation, This Vacuum Sucks.

With two dogs and two cats that container does fill up, but real easy to empty.

4. I wanted the animal....
but that price tag was a problem.... I'll be moving to my own place soon anyway, and I don't personally have any pets so the standard one should be fine for my needs.

Yeah, and LOVING the ease of emptying the container!!!

6. A lot of people said it was a pain to empty....
compared to bag vacs because it was fairly small, so it had to be done often... and that you had to do it outside.

I give them the former, but the latter makes no sense- you don't really want to remove a bag indoors, either. I did it once and dirt poofed out everywhere...
