Obama Finds Chewing Gum Under Oval Office Desk

Does it lose it's flavor underneath the Resolute Desk?

Barack Obama strolled (well, more of a strut) into the Oval Office for the first time and tried out his chair behind the President's Desk. As he grabbed the front of the Resolute desk to pull the chair forward, however, his face changed and his eyes got rather big.

As he pulled his hands out, reporters saw that each was filled with what appeared to be a wad of chewing gum.

Secret Service agents and cameramen immediately looked underneath the desk and discovered a rainbow of colors and flavors of gum, some in more advanced stages of hardening than others.

As President Bush entered the office to grab one final picture, he was asked about the gum. "Oh, President Obama can have that if he wants. I wasn't planning on taking it with me cuz I got some at home."

When asked why he stuck the gum underneath the desk, he replied that "the chewing gum really doesn't lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight, and I was saving some of that for later."

Barack Obama then asked George W. Bush if there were any other surprises that he would find in the oval office. "Well," said the former President, "I usually wiped my boogers underneath the cushions of that chair your sitting on."
