One of the characters literally opened a man up by his ribcage in hand-to-hand combat.
That's right... tore him open. Naturally, the victim looked down and spent a little while dying of shock.
For years I tried picturing every possible way to do it. I've had lots of training, but this just seemed beyond my imagination. Until last night.
It hit me... glass.
For some time I tried to figure out what kind of 'hidden toy' could facilitate such a maneuver. But the scoring of the sternum or insertions just couldn't be done with something merely as hard as metal.
It has to be glass.
Mounted, just a one-inch piece, on a bracer, dragged (quickly and viciously) down the chest during an arm lock, one savage blow, and riiiip!
Metal of their time just wasn't hard enough to score the ribcage enough to make it susceptible.
Why do I think of this shit?
Meanwhile, I was also wondering whether or not glass could be made without flaws for 100% efficient force distribution. But that's another story.
