So evidently I put a very silly thing in our last software release.

Evidently I put a button, than when pressed pops a little window up that says "Hi!"*. I seem to remember putting that there to test a certain aspect of the event chain in one window. Must not have cleaned that up.

The users wanted to know what it was for. Isn't that obvious? You press it and it says Hi!
Feeling lonely? Press the button and receive a cheery greeting!

It's a feature.

12. Heh, at my old company, we accidentaly left in an Easter Egg on the credits screen.

If you hold the mouse over the right spot, it pops up a photo of one of our devs, with a eyepatch crudely drawn over one of his eyes.

I'm just glad that we didn't leave in the test animation for one of the buttons.

15. LOL! When building databases for my now-former employer...

I routinely put in little things like that. The databases were all used in-house, and everyone knew me, so there was no risk that the public would see it.

My two favorites were:

A button that said "Don't Click This Button." When clicked, a message box popped up saying "See how you listen?"

A button that said "Click for a word that rhymes with 'eight'"



Did I mention that this was for my former employer?
