What do you think will happen to what's in my oven?
When I get nuts I like to cook. It helps me escape. Sometimes "nuts" carries over into what I create lolz.

Think this will work?
__________

I sautee'd onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and one jalapeno then allowed them to cool. All diced small.

I diced about 6 oz of cheddar into small cubes.

I scrambled 5 eggs in a bowl and added a bit of water because I had no milk.

I took a stick of butter and smeared a 9x9 baking dish.

On top of the smear I put 5 canned biscuits in the design of a 5 on a dice.

I sprinkled 1/2 the vegetables and 1/2 the cheese in dish then poured on eggs.

I sprinkled the rest of the stuff into egg.

Baking now at 350
__________

Whaddya think?

Will it work, and what teh hell is it?

Oh.. what did you have for supper? :)

:hi:

4. I'm not surprised that it was good
It sounded good. Anything with onions is automatically good, at least to me.

But, just so you know - when you add water to eggs, it stiffens them just a bit; when you add milk or cream, you make them (surprise!) creamier. This holds most in making scrambled eggs.

One of those goofy things I've always known. I don't know why.

But, good for you!

5. aHa!
So it would have probably been fluffier without water? I had no milk. I would have tried milk, but I've seen people add both to eggs and figured what the hay.

:)

6. I don't know about baking.......
I was told that water/milk thing about scrambled eggs. I don't know that it would make such a big difference with baking.

And what is WRONG with you having no milk in the house!??!?!??!

Get to the store RIGHT NOW ---------------------------------------------------------------------->

9. You can call it "Inchy's Biscuit Strata"
Since it worked and all. Strata is a sort of quiche with a bread base.

10. Basically what you did was a casserole version of "baked eggs"
Although I don't eat eggs any longer, I know "Joy of Cooking" talks about it and probably "The Way to Cook" by Julia Child. I just don't think I've ever tried such a thing. My other thought was that it's like a quiche, even though that requires milk.

Here's a search on "baked eggs" at recipezaar :)
