The 'terrible twos' are a remarkable understatement.
More like the 'I can't believe I still sane twos'.

Good grief. Everything's gravy and all of a sudden *wham*, I'm living with child with the temperament of a rabid badger half the time.

16. 17?
You're being generous. I'm still waiting for mine to finish theirs -- and my two oldest are 25 and 19.

3. When my kids threw tantrums, I would just copy them.
Eventually they'd just get pissed at me, stop, and run away.

5. That's awesome.
I tend to utilize the 'stoic statue of eternal indifference' defense. Eventually, he wears out.

10. Me too. People underestimate young children's abilities
to get sarcasm, and they underestimate sarcasm's ability to teach young children.

17. I've done that.
Hell, I still do it on occasion and my youngest is twelve. Heh...let me tell you, when a 48-year-old woman stands in the middle of the room having a tantrum to top the kids' argument, it gets their attention. Quick.

And, wonder of wonders, they usually forget what they were so upset about.

7. Meh. Consider it a distraction from the house buying stress.
Twos are just trying out their will. Eventually they learn that you are the boss of them, and then

they promptly forget it again.

11. The house is driving us nuts.
We've just discovered our loan officer is scatterbrained. Evidently this loan comes with all sorts of things required in the house that aren't there (like handrails on the front steps). Time to scramble before the appraiser comes out.

Thankfully our Realtor is brilliant. Well worth every dollar she'll get.

14. Fair warning: you get an encore performance when they are teenagers.
I had so much fun when our kids were little, and it helped that they were somewhat portable. As teens they are not.

I remember experiencing the Mother of all Temper Tantrums one day in the grocery store. It started with my two year old and spread to my four year old, and I remember carrying them both out of the store kicking and screaming, one under each arm. Actually that happened a few times... and in church too.

Thank goodness when they are teens they can leave on their own and you don't have to worry too much about them. They tend to hang around once they are outside and free of you. Best of all they'll pretend they don't know you as they stomp out of the building.

Mostly my kids' early childhood is a blur to me, probably because I was so sleep deprived.

Good Luck!

19. I'm finding it to be fun.
Though that rabid badger line is not a bad description. Usually though, if the threat of a time-out in his crib doesn't work, actual time-out will.

Eases right out as soon as their expressive language catches up with their cognition, so they're not quite so frustrated by the inability to express themselves.

21. Great explanation.
BITING is part of that! Imagine our shock when we learned that our sweet little girl had bitten her friend (boy) who visited frequently! Thought we'd never see him or his family again! We did.
