Good morning Lounge
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 03:31 AM by MissHoneychurch
How are you today?

Yesterday evening I unpacked some more boxes and cleaned up my apartment. I even washed my window front in the living room in the dark :eyes: All because my mom and her bf are coming today  I want her to see that I did stuff the last two weeks .... the good daughter I am.

My moving guy called again last night, we will meet for a date somewhen next week :D

I prefer not to call you "Jelly"

I am excited about that date too. I mean the guy met me when I was in my worst outfit, no make-up, no hair-do .... and he STILL showed interest .... and he told me I am his type in one of our phone conversations. I hope he still thinks it when he sees me again.

I am sure that you are going to knock him off of his feet.
Go with confidence.I'm excited for you.:woohoo:
About the name thing. The only reason I didn't pick "Do Be Do Be DU" is because I didn't want to be called Doobie (after a Joint):silly:
If I could re-change it I'd pick Sky Masterson probably.
If you want you can just call me James(I'll always call you MissH).

I am glad it is Friday too. Even though it won't be a quiet weekend. Oh, btw, I am off Monday, so there will be no Good morning thread.

It feels good to have a date again. Been a while and been a while since I fell in love.

15. I'm confident that you'll have
a good time on your date. Anything planned yet?

Off on Monday? Sheesh . . . you sure take a lot of time off. ;)

I'm trying to plan a sick day, but am just too busy. I'm hoping if I get some urgent stuff done at work today, that maybe I can call in sick on Monday.

But if I can't, I'll certainly miss your good morning thread.

17. 29 days is good. Counting
weekends I've got 21. Right now I've got 32 days built up (not including weekends), and it's very difficult to take time off.

A café date is a good first date, although it sounds like the two of you have been doing plenty of talking already. :)

Gotta get ready for work, so I'm wishing you a nice weekend, and enjoy your Monday off.

Good to see you again. But don't worry about the last couple of days. I was partly so busy that I couldn't keep up with my thread. I won't be around Monday either. My mom and her bf stay till Monday, so I take that day off as well.

I'm looking forward to see my mover man again :D

You still have to tell me about your experience in DC.

It was crazy
The crowds were huge, and we kept getting directed in the wrong direction. At one point we got stuck on one block that was so crowded it took us an hour to get from one end to the other. After we got out of that, we got sent down a tunnel that we thought only went a block or two and would take us to the part of the mall we were supposed to be on, but it actually went out on the freeway, and we had to walk back. But we were on the mall (stuck between two rows of port-a-pottys, so we couldn't see anything, but we could hear) before Biden's swearing in. When Obama was finally sworn in, it was amazing - I've never seen so many strangers hugging each other.

There's a lot more, but I don't have time to write it up right now. :D

32. yeah,
we had a good time.

I think my favorite part (although not at all historically significant) was when we went into the Air and Space museum to warm up. Teenagers had taken up every bit of wall, seating, and floor space to sleep - and itf was taking pictures (with flash!) and no one moved. It looked like something out of a disaster film - with "dead" bodies everywhere.

We were making jokes that it looked like we were refugees.

36. Very true
I'm just really glad I went - I was on the fence about it for awhile - but it was cool to see a huge crowd that was as well behaved as it was. Somewhere between 4.5 and 5 million people is what I heard, and there were no arrests, which I think is amazing. We didn't see any protesters at all. Even when we were packed in so tight we could barely breathe, people were still cheerful and making jokes. I've been to a lot of marches and protests and I've never seen the goodwill that I saw on Tuesday, and that really blew me away.

It's so nice to see how really wonderful can be - especially after the last 8 years of anger.

you would have bit yourself in the ass if you hadn't gone. But you went so all is good. And it is really wonderful that nothing happened in that crowd. All were friendly people who wanted to enjoy the day and see Obama been sworn in as President :D

I'm telling you, though. After this experience, I've decided that when it's the first female president (hopefully a dem, of course) then I will go the whole nine yards - get the hotel room and tickets to a ball, and everything. I won't miss that for anything. :D

I better head out, there are all of these things I should probably be doing, which I'm ignoring. Have a great weekend with your mom and her bf.

43. A mysterious looking tower all dark like that!
You could easily convince folks here, that this was a remnant of the Cold War, perhaps a super secret missile of some sort. I remember it dazzling in the sunshine and quite large, I always thought it was quite beautiful, a great large shimmering Christmas tree-topper! I soooooo miss Berlin. Someday, God willing, I'll be back there.

Great news about the mover Miss H! Do you remember that cartoon you had a couple of years back, the one with the empty outstretched hand which made a kitty's head magically appear underneath it? Well, pretty and smart young ladies such as yourself have a similar magic! Eventually a guy always magically appears, looking of course, to get a pat on the head too!

Here is a thought for a second date: Have him take you to an indoor ice-skating arena if there is one close by. Be sure to NOT be as competent on the ice as he is, that way he can give you plenty of assistance.

I'm sending to you, across the waves, my warmest vibes that things work out for the both of you.

(ps: if things don't work out for you with the moving guy, let me know, I have a young friend who works for a local cable-TV company. He is not doing so well finding a girlfriend....

(ps,ps: I'll re-post part of this in your PM Box just in case you miss my warm wishes for you and the new guy, good luck to you Nora)
