1. My dear malta blue!
That is wonderful news, sweetie!

I have to say, I'm really not very surprised, either...

He must be dreaming about you too, I'd guess...

16. Distance can be an issue, trust me
whether its 1500 miles or 50 miles, its hard to make it work.

Weekends and then making trips during the week, and trying to work around it is very hard.

1500 miles was hard enough to feel it end, but it made no sense that it would ever work no matter how much I might have wanted it to.

50 miles ended even harder as I had put a lot into traveling there, every weekend, during the week, and as much as I could manage. Now I realize that if both parties put an equal amount of effort into making it work, from the travel, to the contact, to the partnering, then it has a chance.

Its worth giving it a whirl, just guard your heart before you get too involved if it heads that way. You and I are similar ages and both recently divorced. Therefore we are both vulnerable in that our hearts are hurt, lonely, and we want to have a relationship. A relationship won't make either of us whole. It might be fun, it might be wonderful, it might end up sucking eggs. No way to find out except try it!

Good luck, and just be cautious, go slow, and keep in mind that whatever happens, it isn't the make or break thing that you might make it into if you are like me.

As for mine, she's just a lot younger than me. She I think is a little freaked by that. She and I just seem to miss hooking up. I will get to thinking well, I'm just an old fart and its no big deal and then she's flirting and talking to me. She also is not completely detached from her last marriage. Anyway, I'm keeping my heart in check as much as possible but trying to stay open to all possibilities. I mean even DU has given me a relationship once that was wonderful while it lasted, and the end was hard, but totally the right thing unless one of us moved and I can't move. She couldn't either for different reasons.

Okay, blabbering away.

;)

19. the distance part stinks
but it allows us the freedom to proceed with caution without the physical complications therein.

8. no entanglements per se, and surely no deal-killing
relationships at all. There is the distance factor and the OMG we have been friends for 15 years what are we doing? factor. Other than that, it's all good.

Thanks for the good wishes :pals:

12. He is a friend of Little MB's dad.
I met him when I went on my first date with Little MB's dad - we were all at a Phish concert.

The STBE was not very open to friends from my "crunchy" days. My friend is so far away, we just sort of lost touch for a few years, but we are back in contact and chatting every day.
