Poll question: Poll on the reinstatement of Pete Rose into baseball
Note #2 would also be understood as allowing Rose to be in the Hall of Fame (I ran out of space).

2. Third option.
Pete Rose was one of my heros as a kid. He played the game harder than anyone I've ever seen, and his on-field accomplishments should be recognized in the Hall.

That said, he turned into an embarassment to the entire institution with his Bill Bennett-esque betting antics. No job for you! (in MLB)

Still, you're a fool to deny his contributions to the great game. For that matter, Shoeless Joe should also be in. He played some of the best ball of his career during the Black Sox Championship series.

7. His time on the field says it all.
He was Charlie Hussle. The man could play baseball. He should be in the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, they'll wait until after he dies to put him in.

9. Who shouldn't be in the HOF: Steriod Users
Barry Bonds has HOF numbers, but if it's true that he is using Steriods then his ass should be kept out of the game. For any player using game-enhancing drugs to improve their numbers are the biggest cheats in the game!!!

11. I guess since the ban occurred just because of him..
it would be fair to allow him in the Hall of Fame - but I'm not sure I agree with reinstatement.

12. Posthumous Pete
Posthumous Pete touched the third rail. There can't be any gambling associated with baseball . . . ever. The taint of suspicion about an improbable outcome would ruin the game.

No to reinstatement. No to Hall of Fame. Pete made his choices years ago when he stubbornly refused to admit his involvement in gambling. What an asshole.
