Should I buy a new TV?

the yes reasons:
Old TV was one of the very first LCDs and has some bugs that have been worked out since then.)
Old TV is starting to occasionally not show a picture, or alternately not produce sound.
old tv is really dusty and is so old it is NOT compatible with any form of wall mount system. And space is at a premium in my apt.
Old tv has issues with resolution and pix elation
Circuit city has one on sale with a good price, and good reviews. and its bigger than what I got

The no reasons
Old tv still works properly better than 90% of the time.
Old tv fits the stand that I made for it just perfectly.
I have been saving for a new tv, but so far only half the price of the TV I found. I have the money, but it would mean no money added to savings this month.
Circuit city is going out of business. I am a cynic, and i know most places avoid honoring warranties like the plague anyway, but a non-jaded part of me still likes them.

Maybe take a crack at giving it a second life via Craigslist, or alternately pawn it off on a relative still in the dark ages of tube tv.

2. So how often is that 10% downtime during crucial moments?

I mean, the first time my TV fritzed on a fourth and goal in the final minutes of a playoff game, it would be Goodwill's problem to deal with. :)

Virtually nothing on that screen is of much importance to me.

My tv cost about 800 when I originally purchased it. A year later, you could get them for 400. 3 years later the same model will now it will cost you 600.

Ive been watching prices, just so's I would know when i had saved enough to start looking for a deal, and so's I would know what was out there. Prices dropped like a stone, but lately have been coming back up a bit.
