No, I'm not going to give the answer. (they also say it's the ninth most desirable place to visit in the world.)

10. Considering it's National Geographic
My guess would be somewhere in Washington state. Perhaps the Puget Sound region.

My next guess would be somewhere in Alaska, perhaps around Juneau.

11. Good guess, but wrong.
I'm beginning to feel a bit guilty because my guess is that most people have never heard of this place.

12. My next guess would be somewhere around the Adirondacks
Or somewhere around the US/Canada border north of the Adirondacks going through upstate NY, Vermont, NH, and Maine. All of that area is really nice.

13.  You win!
In 2006, the National Geographic Society named the Northeast Kingdom as the most desirable place to visit in the country and the ninth most desirable place to visit in the world.<3>

And although I live here and love it, I can think of at least a dozen other places as, or more worthy. I do kinda get why they picked it though.

14. It fits in pretty well with the National Geographic philosophy of roads less traveled
One of these years I'm going to take an aerial tour of the whole region when the leaves are turning. It's on my list of things to do, but I never can seem to get away in late September.

20. beats me, but National Geographic
has long had a love affair with the Kingdom. And it's not just NG, lots of travel mags, websites and books also list it pretty high up as places to visit.

19. I kinda hate it when I read things like that
While I agree with them wholeheartedly, I'm enough of a curmudgeonly Vermonter to want to keep it a secret. :P

17. Well in my opinion it's Yosemite National Park,
the world's best park, period. But that may be old hat to National Geographic.
