Comcast's On Demand service
Where we live, this service--for which we pay a hefty monthly sum--is simply unavailable for between 24 and 48 daylight hours per week due to unspecified technical difficulties. When I call to report it, they say "I don't show any problems on the system. Unplug your digital box for 30 seconds and see if that helps."

It doesn't. It never does. Then four or six or eight hours later the system comes back to life without an explanation.

What are we paying for, again?

1. Quit paying for a service you're not getting
The only way to get their attention is to hit them in their wallet.

3. Really, that's a hard argument to make
If I discontinue service they won't even miss the revenue. If I get ten people to drop Comcast, and each of them gets ten people to do the same, Comcast still won't notice.

It's the same problem with calls to boycott Wal*Mart. If you and I and everyone we know and everyone they know decide to boycott Wal*Mart, it won't even make a blip on the year's balance sheet.

It's a nice goal, though; if someone comes up with a way to organize it effectively, let me know.

In my area, it's part of my digital package (I'm a TV junkie, so I get all the channels). It always works for me and I love my OnDemand, always works for me. Complain loudly to them and drop it.
