1. It worked over the short term for me
But over the long term I was unable to keep the weight off. I tried WW, lost 40 pounds pretty fast, but put it all back on plus a bunch. I didn't go to the classes or the weigh-ins, though. I just borrowed my sister's points book and did it myself. It may work for other people, I guess. But, yes, if you follow the plan you will lose weight. You just need to figure out how to keep it off over the long term.

2. About the same
We did WW at work--official program, the company paid for most of it. Lost a bit of weight, stalled, gained back the weight. At least I'm no worse off than when I started the program and I learned to enjoy plain non-fat yogurt.

3. it works if you stick with.
like most plans, i lost a lot of weight there when i was in my late teens. It could be the plan that works for you, i will tell you though the weight watchers message board is full of assholes so i would stay away from it unless it's been overhauled.

4. It worked, but then I got tired of it and quit going.
I think there are a lot of good philosophical tools I still use. But even when you hit your goal weight, I think you have to keep going. Honestly I am beginning to think we who have weight problems just have to come to terms with the fact that it's something we have to consistently deal with for the rest of our lives. Ugh.

6. I've done it four times.
The first was in 8th grade (I'm 47). After that I did it for my wedding and then to lose the baby weight from two pregnancies. It works when you are doing it, in fact I've found that as I've chased this 25-30 pounds my whole life, it's been the most consistent way to lose.
Right now I'm on my own self-styled "Activia" diet. I eat 2 4 oz. Activia yogurts for breakfast, 2 for lunch and then have a small amount of whatever I'm making the family for supper. I've lost about 35 pounds this way but am kind of stalled out right now which means I need to move my chunky ass and get the rest of this menopausal weight off!

Good luck whatever you decide!

:hi:
