AOL Instant Messager WARNING

I just updated AIM and did a spyware check, the spyware Wild Tangent was loaded by AOL AIM... Grrrrrrrrrrr.

1. Just cleaned my mom's computer of that spyware

It seemed to come after she opened an e-card sent by a friend.

2. My daughter Emily uses that and just reloaded it today.

My Pest Control and Spybot cleaned out 119 of them on the registry key.

4. Save yourself and your computer and dump AOL.

You can do much better then that.

5. Could you tell me how to do that

and what kind of software I should use. I am completely clueless when it comes to computer stuff. I would also like to know if and how to turn off the voice that comes on every time I turn on my computer. I have Office XP. Also, to add insult to injury the software is in French and the voice speaks English. Do you think I could sue Microsoft?

I am French Canadian, but living in Seattle currently I was in Montreal last summer and had a great time. Most of my family is from Quebec City.

Anyway about an internet service provider. I am sure there are many in Montreal, including one by your own phone company.

I have a cable connection and when I signed up, the guy that came to hook it up also brought the "installation cd" for me. Generally you don't need to do that because all you need to do is connect either using a phone number for dial up or auto log on through cable modem or dsl modem. The disc contains all their crap. When I got mine I asked the guy to simply register the modem and that was it..no software was installed at all.

As for AOL..yuck....it fills your computer with junk you don't need.

I'm sure others here can expand on what I am trying to get at.

Yeah, Montreal is a great place, warts and all.

Actually it was the spyware I was wondering about or rather software to remove the spyware.
