I can understand trying to promote abstinence among teenagers until they become adults (though I don't think we should be afraid to talk to them about condoms and birth control either).

What angers me is this puritanical and I think elitist notion that any sex between two unmarried people (who must be a man and a woman, of course) is illegitimate. These people have an attitude that says "if you aren't married, you can't enjoy sex. You aren't allowed to. God will punish you". It takes some of us longer than others to find the right person for marriage. Why should we have to wait and wait and wait in order to have sex? What if I don't get married until I'm 40? Do these people really expect me to wait that long? That really angers me.
