1. Geeze, they made a cartoon out of it? Mario kicked Donkey Kong's butt, I liked him.

2. These are cutscenes from 'Hotel Mario' which was notorious as the worst Mario game ever.

3. That was back when CDs were the newest thing

and all of a sudden they had the capability to do voices and music and video.

Craptastic voice, music and video that interfered with gameplay more than enhanced it, but voice, music and video nonetheless.

5. Look at Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Most consider it a masterpiece, but it has some of the most horrendously awful voice acting in a video game ever.
The worst part? It was completely unnecessary.

9. Lesson for future video games: Don't add voice acting just because you can...
if you're not going to bother making it sound good.
I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy IV DS. :grr:

4. I don't want to watch because I love Mario.
I don't typically pick him if I have the option, although he is an all around player. I usually go with Yoshi or Waluigi. But I do love all Mario games.

7. I got about 1/3 of the way through that.
It was as hard to watch as almost any popular cartoon for the past 20 years (and lots of them from the 20 before that, sadly). Never played that game either, and I suppose I'm not missing much from what the rest of you say. :P

11. No, Mario sucks. Donkey Kong should have eaten him.
Nintendo in general sucks.

12. Nintendo is the best.
BY FAR!!!!

I have every game system they have made. The Wii is where it is at!

14. My son has the Wii, it's novel for about 5 minutes.
The games are cartoony and weak. PS3 kills it, hell, PS2 kills it.

16. There are plenty of good games for Wii, and more coming out this year.
But I will admit they need more games.
However, PS3 is being vastly outsold by Nintendo.

22. They do need more games. But the games they do have are
far better. Much more interactive. Nintendo has always been shorter on the game supply. But they have just as many quality games if not more, IMO. Hello Mario Brothers!!!!!

20. Pssttt! Nah! I have played them all. We actually have
the PS2 and the PSP. My husband is a Sony freak for whatever reason. But Nintendo is so where it is! It is classic and can't be beat.

15. I know.
I played a lot of their arcade games when I was a kid. They've been left in the dust by the other game companies.

17. Nintendo is outselling 'other game companies' by wide margins
They're killing Microsoft and Sony. Nintendo DS outsells PSP by huge margins. Same for the Wii.

18. Yes but outselling doesn't mean it's better.
It's the Backstreet Boys vs. Motorhead syndrome.

19. In the game industry, being good isn't enough. You have to be able to sell your product.
Sony is in a lot of trouble right now.

21. I agree that's how it works.
It still doesn't mean that the Wii is not the Backstreet Boys to the PS3's Motorhead as far as quality.

24. That was seriously boring.
What's the point? By your description I was expecting something more like a threeway between Mario, Luigi and the Princess.
