I think I'm going to get one of those big ass sandwiches. Anything else that's really yummy?

1. Make queso in large quantities
It's easy to make lots of it. Same with salsa.

Chicken wings are always a good bet. Same with veggies and ranch dressing or cheese.

I can't imaging trying to make enough of anything for 50. But if you have enough of a variety of things, you won't need to.

Good luck!

10. RoTel dip (velveeta melted with a can of Ro Tel in it) is a requirement for all
parties in Texas I think.

sausage balls are good, lots of popcorn of course,

16. you got that right. Only good use for canned chili that I know of.
Wolf Brand extra hot no beans melted with a large bar of cream cheese is also a good hot dip.

4. White chedder popcorn, chocolate, pot, maui maui chips, chips and salsa if you trust them with salsa
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 01:51 PM by ZombieHorde
on your furniture, sandwiches are always awesome (like you typed), watch a zombie movie instead of football, I love pretzels (they go great with beer), and some bite sized food which is prepared in the oven (like some sort of pizza bite, onion rings or mozzarella sticks).

edit: I wrote bear instead of beer!

8. If you trust drunk people with hot liquid chocolate in your house,
then fondue would be both delicious and fun.

I'm replacing the Hersheys vs Reeses with Cardinals vs Steelers and using red and yellow M&Ms as the players.

20. I'm all but done with it
I'm an ameteur cake decorator, but I love the creativity that people expressed on it.

The goalposts are a royal PITA though. I went to a candy shop yesterday and found these sour lemon things that i'm using for the goal posts, and they're a bitch to stick toothpicks in.

I'll post a pic of the cake when all's done.

15. I might be in the minority but I always appreciate cut-up vegetables at these events.
They're so refreshing compared to the chips and other foods normally served. Plus, celery is dirt cheap. :)

25. I mentioned your canned chili/craem cheese dip to mrs. av8rdave, and she thought of another idea
She makes a cracker spread. A block of cream cheese, and she pours a roasted raspberry chopotle sauce over it. People LOVE it. The brand she uses is Fischer & Wieser, and it's sold in the Dallas/Ft Worth area at Tom Thumb. It's quick, easy and popular.

She really liked your dip idea, btw.

Set out small bowls of it in different spots.

I always add more nuts than are called for, too.

Have a great time! :hi:
