1. My dear struggle4progress!
My favorite breakfast mush is oatmeal!

And the best I ever ate was in Scotland...

I don't remember what made it so outstanding, but it was marvelous!

:hi:

13. Gotta recipe? I have some buckwheat flour from Burnt Cabins and don't know what do do with it
Actually, the main reason I bought it is that I actually knew where Burnt Cabins was and never met anyone else who heard of the place

Burnt Cabin?

On second thought, I do have some cranberries in the freezer. They might taste good on them.

2. When it's cold and icky outside...
I love a bowl of cream of wheat. Not too thin, not too thick with a little sprinkle of sugar over the top and a splash of milk ('cause I don't usually have half and half. Okay...'cause I never have half and half).

8. Oatmeal is cardboard for your colon--would anyone eat it if they didn't have to?
It's not even that bad--that would at least give it some character. It's just this stuff that sits on your tongue until you decide to swallow.

14. I love real (not instant) oatmeal with brown sugar and half & half
Unfortunately, I'm watching my weight for health reasons so I don't buy half & half anymore It's still pretty good with 1% milk.

I'm glad grits make the poll, there's some places in the US you can't even buy them. I actually MAIL ORDERED my grits a couple of weeks ago, I miss them so bad.

30. steel cut oats are the best, and I have a cheap source too. 99cents a pound in
the bulk bins at my favorite food store Central Market. Last week I broke down and tried the steel cut 9 grain mix which is $2.09 a pound (just got enough for 2 breakfasts worth) OMG that is so good. I predict I will buy more of that!!!!
