I found a claw on the floor a few minutes ago. I think I found a toe on her front paw that's missing a claw. It doesn't seem to be hurting her, at least not preventing her from walking. It's not the whole claw, it's actually hollow. Is this something that's usual?

1. Are you sure it's not claw shed? |
|
That happens. Are you sure she's missing a claw?

2. if that happens then that's what it may be |
|
i didn't know they shed claws. It is hollow and looks like it was trimmed as we would trim our own nails.

I find those from time to time. Also I find the occasional whisker that the kitties lose. No worries! :)

6. heh, can you tell this is the first cat I've been responsible for? |
|
now that I think about it, she was tugging on my jeans last night, i thought she wanted attention, but she may have been getting it loose.

10. I usually find grandkitty's around his scratching post. |
|
If her claw caught on your jeans, it could have helped it break loose.

Cats shed their claws. A good scratching post might be a good idea though.

11. So she hasn't actually 'lost' it? I mean, you DID find it, right? |
|
Try Super Glue. Or duct tape. ;-)

13. Up. Some cats shed their claws. A new one is still on your cat. |
