10. We need a closer
That was the difference between 100 wins and fourth place last year. Damn our cheapskate organization!

11. Yeah, I know.
But February isn't the time for objectivity. :)

However, someone should tell DeWitt he doesn't own the Browns, he owns the Cardinals!

13. Sorry, I gotta be critical this preseason
Edited on Sun Feb-01-09 11:08 PM by EastTennesseeDem
The last two seasons, my fondest memories of the postseason have been the Cubs going 0-fer. Don't get me wrong; I mean those are very fond memories, but one arm can make quite the difference and allow our team to participate in October.

I saw three games in person last year. Franklin-hausen blew all three of them

14. He did have a tendency to bring his gas can with him to the mound.
I just feel like Albert Pujols is going to be wasted. And what's up with Glaus' surgery? Out until, what, May? But, hey, anything can happen. I thought they might lose 90 games last year, and they were above .500. Go figure.

15. Ludwick was a revelation
and they couldn't have done it without Glaus or Molina (he was a shocker offensively). I'm kind of sweating out the third base situation myself.

You brought up Pujols; that's my main worry. Nobody wants to win more than he does, and if we're not trying to help him out he'll be gone in two years.

21. I know. I hope we don't have to endure its actuality
But the man wants rings, and if he doesn't feel that the organization is committing to them, I will think no less of him if he puts another on.

32. As much as I hate the idea, my guess is the Cubs.
Part of me wants it to happen to shut their fans up, the other part of me wants to see the misery continue. The latter part is stronger, but the Cubs are the team I think will win it all.
