It shouldn't be too hard to figure out who I want to win and they do have a chance, but I don't think this is the year.

The Sharks look too good to be true.

My guess: Boston over Detroit in six.

Yours?

You Twins fans always know the right answer. :)

BTW, have they signed Crede yet?

Edited to add smilie so as to eliminate any chance that this post looks snide and hostile

7. As an Expos fan with no team now,
I find myself rooting for Minnesota because your boys and mine were both the teams most often mentioned when the contraction talks were going on. As such, I hope the Twins sign Crede too.

I'll never have the same love for the Twins that I had for the Expos because I saw the Expos live at least once in every season of their existence and used to scrutinize each of their box scores, but of the teams still alive Minnesota is the only one which has my unwavering support.

9. That whole contraction thing pissed me off.
I appreciate your support of the Twins. And understand why you can't love them the way I do.

Even though I live in CA, I still get to see the Twins when the come out here every summer.

Carl Pohlad and Bud Selig are pretty much on my permanent DTM list. And Carl Pohlad is actually dead...

10. By the way,
do you remember how a couple of years ago I put up a post asking people to talk me into rooting for their teams because I no longer had my Expos to root for? You participated in the answer.

I hope you're pleased to know you won. :) It was close, too, because I was heavily considering Seattle. During that thread, I also remember that although there was no chance I'd ever pick the Mets (hate 'em, for obvious reasons - not just because of Gary Carter, either), the one Mets fan that put forth his or her case was very convincing.

I'm on your side now.

Hey, is this the Dark Side? Do I get a fiddle of gold? ;)

15. Excellent.
I am allergic to chocolate, though, so no chocolate chip, okay?

My top choices are peanut butter and oatmeal :)

8. I'm hoping for the Bruins. One of the originals, and it's been way too
long since they were a great team. I still have great memories of skipping school to go to the Stanley Cup parades in Boston in 1970 and 1972.

11. I'm not hoping for the Bruins, as they are mortal enemies of my Habs, but
I think you'll be getting your wish this year.

18. Tell me about it.
I must have missed that you are with "them." I still remember 1977, Bruins probably would have won the Cup that year if it wasn't for the f'n referee--all of whom were in Montreal's pocket, of course--calling "too many men on the ice" on the Bruins at the Forum. Dick penalties have no place in the playoffs.

19. I was in my early teens at the time, and
remember exactly what you were talking about. Back then I was a pint-sized snot who was happy to see bad officiating as long as it was in my favor, but if I were to see that now I'd simply shudder. As an example, I don't have any real love for the Seahawks and despise the Steelers, but the officiating in that Super Bowl still makes me want to puke.
