My quick thoughts on the Superbowl

- What an amazing game. I was glad that it was competitive and not a blow out.
- Santonio Holmes shouldn't have received the MVP award. That should have gone to Harrison for one of the best plays in NFL history
- The officials screwed up BIG TIME for not reviewing the 'fumble' at the end of the game. While it likely wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game, it is inexcusable for the play to not be reviewed
- Larry Fitzgerald is the best wide receiver I have ever seen
- John Madden is a jerk for saying so many stupid things, thus causing me to take more drinks
- I didn't really remember the entire game; maybe we got a little too into our drinking game
- The commercials were okay, but not great

In fairness, MVP is about the performance in the whole game, not just one outstanding play.

I think they look at the play in the upstairs booth and let the officials on the field know if it's close enough to be reviewed. Anyone else know how that works?

But the official usually under the hood to review it with them, so everything stops.

It was a fumble, plain and simple, but the fact they seemed to just go to the kneel down after will have revisionists who hate the Steelers now claim it wasn't a fumble, and the Cardinals got screwed. Something delayed the kneel down.....but it didn't seem long enough to be the standard review.

in spite of his incredible play.

His unsportsmanlike conduct in the second half of the game was appalling; and had he been given the award, it would have been a smear against the whole team.

What a game! Not the perfect outcome (after all, the Lombardi Trophy belongs in the NFC). However, the game was so great it barely matters.

I was busy entertaining (14 guests) and drinking a beer or two, so I may have missed some of the details.

And if the NFL has any integrity whatsoever, it'll fine him out the ass for what he did.

I had no favorite team in the game (I'm a Cowboys fan), and I thought the officials were horrifically bad, and much to Pittsburgh's benefit.

But it was still a hell of a game to watch, especially the second half.
